Scholars’ Yard has a broad and balanced curriculum that fully satisfies the national curriculum. At the same time, it is flexible enough to respond to the needs of pupils of all abilities and interests.
The School curriculum is designed to deliver all the requirements of the National Curriculum and at the same time is enhanced to reflect the needs of Scholars. The curriculum is constantly being reviewed to take account of educational initiatives and to respond to the future models of schooling.
Pupils are entitled to expect a curriculum that challenges their individual abilities, is relevant to their experience and present needs, and has application and value in the world outside the school. The recognition of pupils as individuals demands appropriate teaching methods and learning tasks that will extend to all pupils. Including those with special educational needs, Quality teaching and learning are a priority within the school.

Balanced Curriculum
The broad and balanced curriculum permits pupils to experience and practice/develop a wide range of knowledge, skills attitudes, concepts, and understanding. All pupils will have a comprehensive education that will allow them to develop and meet educational requirements. The curriculum supports the learning of Mathematics and English, the sciences, technology, humanities, expressive arts and physical education, and work experience. There is a personal development program that focuses on key issues that are salient to living in a multi-cultural community as well as supporting individuals in their learning. Information technology is an integral part of learning in all curriculum areas and forms a major thrust of enhanced provision at the school. Opportunities exist for pupils to extend their learning through extra classes and a wide range of co-curricular and educational visits.
