partnership with parents

We are committed to the concept of partnership with parents. There are termly meetings with parents to review individual education Plans for pupils and targets and other consultations can be arranged as required.

Students have access to an attractive and well-equipped Learning Support Base which provides a wide range of appropriately graded fiction and nonfiction texts.

The school seeks to provide an educational experience that facilitates the intellectual, aesthetic, social, emotional, and physical growth of students who are regarded as individuals and are encouraged and expected to exercise an increasingly large measure of initiative and self-discipline as they mature. Interest in learning is fostered in an informal relaxed atmosphere of mutual respect based on principles of Academic Freedom and professional responsibility on the part of the faculty, administrators, and students.

Students are encouraged to develop their talents to the greatest degree possible so that they may become responsible citizens of the world, find a meaningful life, and be prepared to continue their formal education in the setting of their choice.

The Academic framework at Scholars’ Yard is structured to address 3 inter-related questions:

What do we want for our children?

How best will they enjoy this learning?

How will we know what they have learned?
